Participant Watercolor Weekend 2025

Hi! I'm Astrid

Watercolor teacher, freelance business illustrator, and eternal creative enthusiast. I've been in love with watercolor since my student days: you can create something beautiful with it in no time, and it fits easily in your bag. That's why I never travel without my sketchbook (okay, usually it's more than just one or two or three...).

Travel illustration has taken me to all corners of the world: from the fjords of Scandinavia to the colorful streets of Mexico: everywhere I go, I paint and draw to truly pause and see the world better. What makes me happy? Inspiring people to discover their own creativity, try new techniques, and discover just how much they're capable of. With my workshops, weekends, and creative trips, I want to create a place where you can play, experiment, and simply enjoy creating.

4 Fun Facts About Me:

  1. My coffee and tea always get cold when I'm drawing.

  2. I always have a sketchbook in my bag (sometimes even five), you never know when inspiration will strike.

  3. Besides teaching, I work as a strategic business illustrator, helping organizations visualize complexity clearly and effectively. (Curious? www.astridtenboschstudio.com )

  4. I am endlessly curious and capture stories as a visual journalist.

  5. Besides watercolor, I like to work with lino, ceramics, and anything that allows me to get my hands dirty.
