Hi!

I am Astrid: Watercolor illustrator, teacher, travel enthusiast, freelance business illustrator, and eternal creative enthusiast.

I have been in love with watercolor ever since my student days: you can create something beautiful with it in no time, and it fits right in your bag. That is why I never travel without my sketchbook (okay, usually it is more than 1 or 2 or 3...).

Travel illustrations have taken me to all corners of the world: from the fjords in Scandinavia to the colorful streets of Mexico. Wherever I go, I paint and draw to truly pause and see the world better. What makes me happy? Inspiring people to discover their own creativity, try out new techniques, and realize how much they are actually capable of. With my workshops, weekends, and creative journeys, I want to create a place where you can play, experiment, and simply enjoy making things.

4 Fun facts about me:

  1. My coffee and tea always get cold when I am drawing.

  2. There is always a sketchbook in my bag (sometimes even five), you never know when inspiration will strike.

  3. In addition to teaching, I work as a business strategic illustrator and help organizations make complexity clear and visual. (Curious? www.astridtenboschstudio.com )

  4. I am endlessly curious and capture stories as a visual journalist.

  5. Besides watercolor, I love to express myself with linocut, ceramics, and anything where I can get my hands nice and dirty.
