The retreat takes place from Wednesday 25th of March 2026 till Monday 30th of March 2026

CHECK IN / ARRIVAL DAY Check in at Mac Els Igols is at 4pm. If you arrive earlier you can chill by the pool. The retreat starts at 5pm. We’ll gather for a welcome snack and introduction, followed by a creative introduction & dinner. CHECK OUT / DEPARTURE DAY The retreat ends after breakfast. Check out is at 11am.

Even though Mas els Igols feels remote and peaceful, yet it’s surprisingly easy to reach. The nearest major airport is Barcelona El Prat (BCN). From Amsterdam Schiphol, there are at least 8 flights a day leaving to Barcelona.

Coming from the city centre of Barcelona?

• Hop on the R4 train from Plaça Catalunya, which runs twice an hour. In about an hour, you’ll arrive at the station Vilafranca del Penedès. From the trainstation Vilafranca del Pendès you can travel to Mas els Igols by:

  • taking a 20-minute taxi ride from Vilafranca to the farmhouse (around €20,-)

  • or catching the local Igualadina bus in the direction of Pontons. Get off near the gas station ‘Benzinera de Sant Marti’, from there it’s a 15-minute walk (1.5 km) to the house.

• It's also possible to take a taxi from Barcelona Airport (around €100,-)

If you’d like, you can try to share a taxi with other guests from Vilafranca or the airport. We can provide contact information so you can connect with fellow participants to arrange a shared ride.

Driving yourself? There’s on-site parking for up to six cars if you’re arriving by rental car. Just let us know in case you arrive by car.

Once the retreat is fully confirmed, you will get a payment request to pay the remaining balance.

Once the retreat is officially confirmed, we will send you all the information you need to book your flights.

The remaining balance of the retreat can then be paid either in one payment or in installments, whichever works best for you.

As long as you're excited to learn, you're welcome to join. During the various workshops, Astrid will walk you through the basics. The sessions are suitable for both beginners and more experienced creatives.

No, both beginners and experienced painters are welcome. The workshops are designed so that everyone can work and learn at their own level.

Yes, of course! We will later ask you for any dietary wishes and we will take them into account for the meals.

We have private rooms and shared bedrooms (with seperate 90cm beds).

You can decide if you want a private room or choose a shared room. In case you want to share a room with 1 or 2 friends, let us know in the sign up, and we will make sure you can share it.

Normally, about half of the participants join the retreat solo, while the other half bring a friend, sibling, or colleague along.

This retreat is perfect for solo travelers, offering plenty of space to create both independently and in community. You can retreat to a cozy corner to paint quietly or connect with others over shared meals. It’s an ideal setting to relax on your own while also meeting new, like-minded people.

Catalonia’s climate is primarily a Mediterranean climate, with mild temperatures and little rain. With usually warm summers and moderately cold winters. In the winter it is very likely that you can still spend a good part of your days outside. In the microclimate of the valley where the house is situated, there’s normally an average of more than 300 sunny days and around 500 mm rain annually.
